Electronic IDs

DataMate MP

The problem: It's easy to make mistakes when you collect data manually. You might transpose numbers or write down a reading for the wrong sensor. Recording readouts solve the transcription problem since they store the sensor reading in memory. But it is still very easy to mismatch sensors and readings, especially if you have unskilled laborers reading your sensors.

Electronic IDsThe solution: You can solve this problem by installing electronic IDs in your terminal boxes or connectors. An EID is a small chip that can be wired into a connector or terminal box to serve as an electronic identifier for a particular sensor. When the readout detects the EID, it automatically selects the appropriate sensor in its sensor list, eliminating mismatches between sensors and recorded data.

Implementing the solution: First, you need a DataMate MP, because it is the only readout on the market that reads EIDs. Next, you need EIDs for your sensors or terminal boxes. Then you need to make some entries in your project database (using the MP Manager software), and you're ready to work.
